Beyond Neighbours was founded by physicians who got tired of watching the healthcare system fail the people who need it most. After decades as hospitalist physicians — the doctors who manage care inside the hospital — we saw the same story over and over: seniors falling through the cracks, families burning out, and a system too fragmented to catch anyone.
So we brought the clinic to the living room.
Dr. Trevor Chan
Trevor has spent 15 years in hospital medicine — obstetrics, critical care, primary care — watching the system fail the people who need it most. That frustration became Beyond Neighbours. His approach is holistic: he doesn't just treat symptoms, he treats the whole person in the context of their home and their life.
He also launched a medical messaging app through YCombinator, so yes — he's the rare physician who can both insert an IV and debug a business model.
Dr. Sunita Chacko
Sunita has spent 14 years focused on caring for the elderly and vulnerable populations, working across hospital and community settings. Her background in public health and quality improvement means she doesn't just deliver care — she designs better systems for it.
She brings a multidisciplinary lens to every complex case, and somehow manages to still be smiling after a long night on call. Her two young children remain committed to fighting bedtime.
